"I think what Casey does is a gift to the local music scene. I
feel lucky to have worked with him. You get a real honest deal at Inner State.
You couldn't hope for a more welcoming and comfortable place to record. Too
bad there aren't more places like this where you can explore yourself as a musician.
Inner State Studio is golden and real."

"Recording had always been such a daunting activity to me. It would concretize
the sounds I emanate and forever hold to scrutiny the dissonant with the melodious,
the fumble with the flow, the accidental with the deliberate.
How fortunate, then, to have Casey Friedman's Inner State Studio as an environment for solidifying sounds. In the first place, Casey understands what Loose Shoes is about. Casey's a musician's musician, which means he understands music at its essence, without qualifiers of genre, type, or style. He knows music....period. So he's able to just meld into our eclecticism with absolute ease.
He also understands very well, increasingly so, the equipment and tools he uses. He manipulates the controls and sound the way an artist paints a painting or a musician plays a fugue.
When you climb the steps up to Inner State, just above The Horn Trader music store, you are greeted with the sense that you're entering a "space" that is not just any space. It's special in that it's got a calm and relaxing atmosphere and ghosts of sound from so many creative sonic sessions that came before. This is a space where innovation takes place, which endows it with a bit of reverence in my mind.
Recording at Inner State has been so much fun and so rewarding that I got over being nervous about it immediately. What a treat to make music in such an inspiring place! And then to produce something that I actually LIKE, and to do it with an enjoyable, productive collaboration with Casey and the rest of the band......well, it's been so great!!!!
This is to thank Casey for being there for us musicians who walk outside the lines a little and who need a collaborator instead of a controller. Thanks Inner State Studio and Casey Friedman for our mirror of music!"

"Casey's studio is a relaxing place to work. I felt at ease and
I felt he understood what we were trying to accomplish. Casey is patient and
a good listener, which seems to me to be indispensable in his business."

A very large thank you to our collaborator Casey Friedman, Proprietor and Wonkavator

else's agenda and just get on with what we wanted to do!"

"To whom it may concern: Casey Friedman has been on an engineering internship
at Bristol Studios for the past several months. During his internship he demonstrated
well above average progress, skill and willingness to work hard as well as the
ability to act as a team member. As an intern he has shown diligence, timeliness
and initiative in getting projects done. I would definitely recommend him for
a position in the audio industry.
